Draught Sealing - Berkshire
Installing Draught Sealing in London, Berkshire and Oxfordshire
Our draught-sealing service brings new life to your existing windows, dramatically enhancing the performance and eliminating annoying draughts and problems associated with older windows.
Sash windows are removed from the box frame and repaired as necessary. Timber parting beads and staff beads are replaced with new timber beading, machined to accept a carrier and brush-pile.
Glazing repairs are carried out as part of the refurbishment, which also re-news sash cords and overhauls/replaces pulleys wheels. Windows are weighed and weights are adjusted to ensure correct balance and maximum sash travel.
Once the windows are re-fitted, new solid brass furniture is fitted, which consists of one fitch catch, a pair of sash lifts and a pair of D'handles. Rola sash stops are fitted in dual positions, allowing the sash to be locked shut, or locked open at four inches to allow ventilation.
This work can be carried on most sash windows and comes in at a fraction of the cost of replacement. Please note that whilst all bare timber is left primed, we do not undertake the decoration of windows.
